A - Walking

A forest RAVeL

The RAVeL through the forest of Daverdisse is a pure delight. You can go for miles without coming across a road. This is one of the least known but also one of the most untamed green tracks. The path follows the torrent and plunges into the vast forest. A route that children will adore.

Take the RAVeL at the hotel ‘Le Moulin de Daverdisse’ on the N 857. Downstream, the walk is less interesting because it follows the road. The route takes you as far as Porcheresse. Eight kilometres of joy.

À Sohier

C - One of the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia

The scene in Sohier is one of quality and uniformity with its traditional houses (including thirteen farms), well maintained or renovated and mostly built of limestone dating from the 19th century.

D - Beauraing Castle and Castel St Pierre park

A stone’s throw from the Beauraing town centre lie the municipal park of Castel Saint-Pierre and the private park of Castel Sainte-Marie, the site of Beauraing Castle. These two parks stand side by side and in the past formed a single entity.

With almost 27 hectares of woods and walks, seven lakes and a lovely residence, this is a wonderful place for walking, fishing, sport (Vita fitness trail) and relaxation, including barbecues and rest areas. A small arboretum collects together trees and shrubs characteristic of Calestienne, as well as around fifty forest species.

Of Beauraing Castle itself, which probably dates bank to the Middle Ages, there now remain only the towers, walls and outbuildings.

F - Nichet Cave

The underground world opens up in Nichet. The cave is a fabulous sight: plays of light illuminate works fashioned by nature over thousands of years.

Halls abounding in concretions stretch across depths of 35 metres.
