Balade du Bois Brûlé (Burnt Wood walk)

A walk in the heart of a rich fauna and flora, resinous woods and living hedges.
The paths followed during this walk allow you to discover the mosaic of environments typical of the agricultural and forestry activities of the rural Ardennes.
The production areas (coniferous or deciduous wood, nurseries, pastures) are integrated into a network of hedges, blackthorn or willow thickets and small watercourses bordered by alluvial meadows.
In the middle of the route, the route crosses the "Bois-brûlé". This state-owned forest is remarkably rich in biological diversity: 44 species of butterflies, a wide variety of flora including 3 species of orchids and, among the many nesting birds, the Honey Buzzard, the Northern Goshawk, the Red-backed Shrike, the Turtle Dove, the Woodcock, etc. Conservation measures have been adopted to preserve this richness: late and alternating mowing and the maintenance of wide open paths to allow the sun to reach the ground.
