Purnode- Vallée du Bocq - Purnode

The secret valley... Valleys, ridges and forests lead us to a land rich in heritage and history. From the village of Purnode, the walk leads to one of the most beautiful rivers in the country: the Bocq.
In the undergrowth, the path is made up of a grey and black sandstone jigsaw puzzle: no doubt one of the old byways that linked the villages and united their inhabitants. Further on, this same path enters a forest of pines and beeches. In the half-light, it makes superb arabesques. It ends at the foot of the Bocq. Short-term happiness as we walk along the river, offering a relative freshness of air. Above us, from viaducts to tunnels, runs the old railway line which is now used by the Chemin de fer du Bocq, a tourist train.
The Bocq valley has been transformed from an industrial valley into a beautiful green landscape.
