The route follows the RAVeL route on the River Ourthe which is a delight for hikers.... Approaching Comblain-au-Pont, the path leaves the peaceful valley to climb towards the Condroz plateaus. Charming hamlets pop up along the way. Fraiture, Presseux and Rouvreux are characterized by the stone houses from the quarries of the Ourthe valley. From the summit of La Redoute, the small road joins Deigné, which was at the time a country of pastoralism with its rocky soil. The village has retained its narrow streets and limestone walls. The many underground cavities see the streams disappear to reappear downstream. The path rises towards the heights of the village: the opportunity to contemplate the beautiful landscape of this buffer region between the Condroz and the Ardennes. To the west extend meadows of long grasses with a softer relief while over towards the east, the sandstone and shale areas are covered with forests towards Haut-Regard. This is the entrance to the Ardennes massif, via the pretty forest road along the Porallée. We cross a high plateau where you’ll happen upon the pretty hamlet of Vert-Buisson. A long descent through the hedges leads to Winamplanche and the connecting route to the spa town.
