On Foot around Montauban
At the beginning of the walk, you discover a series of small waterfalls hurtling down the hill. These “crons” in the Gaume refer to petrifying hard-water springs with tufa formations. The site is beautiful with a multitude of streams crisscrossing the valley with crystal-clear water. The flora and fauna include rare and threatened species are a joy for nature lovers. The biodiversityof the Gaume has no limits... Streams and ponds punctuate the green environment of the large beech forest with the colour blue. The Laclaireau
Valley Nature Reserve then opens up to you. At the end of the hike, the RAVeL (greenway) guides you through the great forest.

The Trou des Fées in Virton: a magical location

En 1615, il fut décidé d'y construire une fonderie. Deux ans plus tard, le haut fourneau a été mis en service. Dès 1805, la sidérurgie n’utilise plus du charbon de bois, mais du coke provenant des bassins houillers de Liège et de Charleroi. Il est possible de se promener librement sur le site et de partir à la découverte de ses secrets.

Visitez la collection de vieilles motos de la famille Thiry. Marcel Thiry, alias Monsieur Moto, avait un garage dans le centre. Il était le plus important concessionnaire Vespa de Belgique, vendant jusqu'à 300 exemplaires chaque année ! Sa collection comptait une centaine de motocyclettes.

Ce site gallo-romain a été habité de la première moitié du Ier siècle de notre ère jusqu'au milieu du 4e siècle. Il s'agissait d'un complexe agricole d'une superficie de près de 3 hectares. Les archéologues sur place vous donneront volontiers quelques explications.
