Serenity walk in Heinstert

This walk heads towards the village, but just before crossing the stream, it climbs up towards the forest, offering a beautiful view of the village. Between young spruce trees and a few Douglas firs, it descends to the valley, a magical place, before climbing back up through the beech trees.
The second part of the walk is dominated by spruce trees, with the trail running alongside the Rulles, where wildlife likes to come and cool off.
A final stop is a must at a place called ‘le Gros Chêne’ (the Big Oak). This oak tree has been classified as a remarkable tree since 1987. Its condition is regularly monitored by the Department of Nature and Forests to ensure both its longevity and the safety of walkers. Its theoretical circumference is over 5.30 m at a height of 1.5 m. Its very poor condition has been a cause for concern for many years. In 1930, a young oak tree was planted 10 m away to succeed it.
