Promenade de la Virée des Croix

A Book Village, a river, and an unexpected landscape are the main ingredients of this route. The walk begins in Redu and takes you toward the Lesse River, then to an astonishing viewpoint: the satellite dishes of the ESEC (the European Space Security and Education Centre).
Highly visual, this site nestled in the landscape will undoubtedly surprise you.

Chapel Notre-Dame de Walcourt (1750) and its lime trees
From Redu, just before Lesse, a small road on the leftFramed by two venerable lime trees, this 1750s chapel overlooks the hamlet of Lesse. It is under the protection of Notre-Dame de Walcourt and was reportedly the scene of some miraculous events. A pilgrimage to Saint Monon - who has a statue there - was long organised there for the protection of livestock, especially pigs.
