Limbourg: country discoveries

Starting from the Place Léon d'Andrimont, the green diamond signpost leads you to a charming, steep path, the Chemin du Loup. Stop for a moment in the middle of your ascent to catch your breath and admire the view of the village of Limbourg peacefully perched on its spur and surrounded by hills. Continue on to the hamlet of Honthem, which rises to 300 metres and whose subsoil was once coveted for its metal deposits.
Around you, a postcard landscape stretches as far as the eye can see, with a few wooden benches inviting you to admire it.
The walk takes you to the heart of the village of Baelen, at the foot of the Green Peak path in the former fishpond of the Duke of Limburg. This path is now a protected site for the protection of honey hedges, pollarded willows and many insects.
Now follow the Baelen brook and head for the old 'chemin des Passeurs' which twists and turns until it reaches the farmhouse of 'La Belle Vue', on the border of the former territories of the lordships of Goé and Baelen. On a gentle descent along the ridge line, proud of your new photographs, return to the town atmosphere of friendly Dolhain.
