Le chêne à l'image

The hike starts with a steep climb to the viewpoint of the 8 Semois at 345 m altitude. Two kilometres further on you'll find the Chêne à l'Image just before a junction of the walks n°39 and n°40.
Via a stony path the trail descends to the road from where it again goes up through the forest towards the village.

Le Chêne à l'Image
The Chêne à l'Image stands at an altitude of 395 metres, on the edge of an old ridge road that runs from Bagimont to Membre. It is located in one of the forest areas of the Lower Semois, on the left bank of the river. This tree is imposing by its size and the development of its branches. It is estimated to be two hundred years old. A few metres above it is a statue of the Virgin Mary. This pious image justifies the name given to this oak in 1980.
