Upon departing from the church in Le Mesnil, a small village that is typical of the municipality of Viroinval, the itinerary follows Rue de Montigny, which descends between large meadows to reach the Ardennes forest. As an aside, Le Mesnil is the least populous and most picturesque village in Viroinval. The itinerary runs along the ‘Deluve’ stream and then crosses it to reach a very pretty trail along the border between Belgium and France, arriving at ‘La Folie’. This place recalls the audacity of the people who entered the forest to forge a sliver of light and vibrancy. You will return to the village via a charming stone path through the forest.
