Autour de l'Almache

In the enchanting setting of the Almache valley, a little-known tributary of the Haute-Lesse, come and discover the typical features of the Ardennes heritage: the very old Fays bridge, the old by-pass road that has become a greenway, a very well-preserved watering canal, and the magnificent Ardennes forests.
The walk starts at Daverdisse church and runs through the village for around 600m. You then continue for 1km on a tarmac road down towards the river, the Almache. Cross the river on the very old Fays bridge to join the Pré Ravel (a former by-pass road that has now become a greenway), which runs alongside the river for 4km. After crossing the Pont de Fer, you will see a very well-preserved watering canal on your right. You then return to the other side of the river along dirt tracks before rejoining the D3 for a 400m climb with a positive gradient of around 46m. You then continue into the forest, where at the end you will discover a magnificent panorama of the forest massif before returning to the starting point on a tarmac road through the village of Daverdisse.
