All hikes in the Ardennes

The walk combines culture, nature and serenity.

It starts at the Maison Languillier - Tourist Office, where you can park easily and where there is also a whole area dedicated to Jijé, a well-known name in comics and a native of Gedinne, a very nice way to start the walk, itself entitled ‘Balade Jijé’.

Right from the start, a short climb up the cobbled street leads to Jijé's childhood home, a must-see for all fans of the artist.

The walk then continues uphill on a wide, little-travelled tarmac road where you can take a break in 2 places thanks to the benches.

After crossing this part of the road, the route takes you up to a gravelled section on the heights of Gedinne, with a beautiful view over the valley, before beginning a well-earned descent.

Most of the rest of the route is on tarmac roads and continues alongside the river Houille in many places, enjoying the soothing sound of the water. The route, which is sometimes gravelled and sometimes asphalted, continues through green countryside before returning to Gedinne and passing through the Place Jijé. 

The route ends with a short stopover in a playground and a final passage over the Houille on a small bridge where the Houille can be seen from all sides.

There are 10 educational panels along the way, retracing the milestones in Jijé's life. It's a very pleasant and accessible tour.
