Gîtes Clairière Ardenne
La Batière et le Liteau
Annie Son
At the heart of the Anlier Forest, Annie Son fell in love with an old farmhouse that she has converted into two charming gîtes: La Batière and Le Liteau. Using her very individual decorative style, she has forged links with their surroundings and history.
Welcome to Louftémont. Two countryside gîtes anchored in their surroundings. Annie adores introducing her guests to minimum-food-miles eating, passing on tips for local restaurants, suppliers and shops who share her philosophy.
Right from the very start of her project, Annie insisted on natural resource management and as much sustainable energy as possible. Her views developed during the project, as can be seen in every corner of the building, which often sparks conversations about sustainable development with her guests.
Many of her guests are families or groups of friends, who enjoy hiking, walking, cycling, foraging for mushrooms or long-distance working.

Annie recommends: Chez Paulette grocer's shop
Long ago, Paulette owned a shop in Léglise. After she retired, its shutters remained closed for many years, until the day her grand-daughter Justine returned from Brussels, where she'd been working, to re-open it as a speciality grocer's shop selling low-food-miles, local products. Of course, she named it "Chez Paulette".
Browsing the aisles, we find chocolates by François Deremiens, beers from the Arel Brewing Project and pearl spelt from La Ferme de Habaru. But it's not only food she sells: she recently started stocking illustrations by Laura Parisse and she is a collection point for click-and-collect orders from CosmEthique.
Justine has the gift of making her customers' mouths water. And to promote the work of her local producer partners. She often works with them to offer sweet or savoury breakfasts or sparkling, reinvigorating brunches, just like her shop.
