Summer in the Ardennes
The Ardennes are splendid in high summer when the weather is sunny and hot. The river waters and forest refresh hikers, walkers and cyclists and foodies can enjoy luscious summer fruit and scents, then the produce of the harvest. And the summer sees many festivals, such as the firework displays on St John’s Day. Finally, most of us get a chance to relax and get away from it all on a summer holiday.
Coping with hot summer days and warm summer evenings
The Ardennes are a veritable ocean of greenery, through which snake silver rivers and lakes. As the temperature rises, the Ardennes refresh and enchant visitors with delicious shady forests and cooling lakes and rivers. In the evenings, there are many festivals and events to enjoy, featuring ancient and modern music, puppets, theatre plays and street performances: outdoor stages are set up in many towns and villages. The Ardennes celebrate all cultures in the summer.
