Nature park of Our
The Our Nature Park is located in the Eislek, in the heart of the Luxembourg Ardennes, at the tripoint between Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg.
Along the Our there is a multitude of walks
The border area, along the river Our, is an ideal destination for lovers of hiking, nature and culture. In a limited area, the Nature Park offers an impressive diversity of landscapes. The municipalities of the Park have joined forces to reconcile the protection of nature with the economic development of the region.
The wide scope of the Natural Park - the protection of nature and the environment, the valorisation of agricultural products and cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, environmental education, services to municipalities and inhabitants - in fact a true instrument of sustainable development for the rural region concerned.
Fauna and Flora: Protecting the variety
Extensive plateaus and deeply carved valleys dominate the landscape of the Our Nature Park. On the vast plateaus, the open space with cultivated and humid areas determines the image.
Arnica, various species of orchids, the copper of the bistort and gray magpies are here at home. The black stork sometimes flies over its hunting area, but it usually hides in the woods, which cover the slopes of the valleys. Between the beech and the oak, the wild cat runs secretly through the Our Nature Park.
Only grouse is even more hidden in ancient tan forests. In the valleys of the streams, you can see with a little luck the thick mussel. No wonder that more than a third of the natural park is designated Natura 2000 zone!
