Nature parks of the Ardennes

The Ardennes region includes twelve nature parks. These are designated areas of special geographic or scientific interest which are managed sustainably, so human farming, forestry and leisure activities have no impact on their flora, fauna and archaeological remains. The park authorities also undertake educational work to raise awareness among visitors and inhabitants and they have laid out waymarked footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways to show off the best features and views of the countryside. The parks’ territories cover forests, valleys, rivers, lakes and moorland.
