The heart of the Natural Park is formed by Lake Haute-Sûre

The landscape is formed by narrow valleys with authentic brooks and rivers, steep wooded hills and high plateaus under gentle agriculture. It's a perfect invitation to be active, to dream and to let the spirit wandering. The heart of the Natural Park is formed by the Lake Haute-Sûre, a lake of 3.8 km2. It provides drinking water for 70% of the Luxembourg population and is a real paradise for nautical activities (without motor), recreation and the experience of nature.

Rich fauna and flora

The symbol of the Haute-Sûre Nature Park is inspired by our landscape. Being the water region of Luxembourg, its base is formed by a wave that represents our many rivers and the lake. Above are trees and shrubs, they symbolize forests, the well-structured landscape and the flora in general. The butterfly is a sign for the abundant biodiversity of our region. The flora is influenced by its local geology, shale rock. The acidophilous species reign there, among them quite a few rare species as for example the pyramidal Bugle. The fauna is as rich as the flora and is home to many interesting species, ranging from the small insect to the big red deer. In recent years the beaver has also returned along our rivers. The water region requires!
