A great little restaurant a stone's throw from the Place Ducale. Sixteen covers inside and another twenty on the terrace, benefitting from the peaceful yet buzzy ambiance off the area surrounding this iconic square.
Chez Georges is run by Raphaël Audaire, who changes his menu daily, depending on what seasonal, local produce is available. And the local area is not short to produce: grains, meat, cheese, cider, plus pork and beef from the GAEC de la Basse Warby, vegetables from Rethel, trout from Attigny and wine and fish from a bit further afield… Raphaël knows them all and how they work. The short menu offers two starters, two main courses and one dessert, guaranteeing everything is fresh and home-made, and offering the promise of delicious discoveries. For Raphaël has found a happy medium between traditional home cooking and world cuisine. Local products on a worldwide grill… Japan, Italy, Africa… all sprinkled with touches of innovation and creativity.

In 1992, Jean Do became a founding partner with his parents Guy and Marie Claude, of the Groupement d’Exploitation en Commun (GAEC) de la Basse Warby. They were later joined by Damien, then Solveig and finally Jean's son Baptiste …
What a lovely story! Today, the GAEC de la Basse Warby raises beef cattle and pigs, a processing plant and a farm shop selling carefully chosen local produce. David and his team of butchers and pork butchers share common values.
Here they work, share and exchange… And you can taste it on the plate!
